Model Variety
In addition to the analog VTX version weighing 47g, the Firefly Baby Quad series includes a digital VTX model compatible with DJI FPV goggles (59g weight, Polar Nano Vista) and a digital VTX model compatible with Walksnail Avatar goggles (weight 62g, Avatar HD). And there are ELRS, Frsky FCC, TBS CRSF, and PNP (not installed) models as receiver types.
Also Firefly series includes 1S ultra-compact "Nano Baby" and 6-motor "Hex Nano" model. Please be careful when purchasing.

How to use the BETAFPV SMO 4K Camera - 4K video camera for FPV drones weighing 30 grams
Introducing Firefly Baby Quad
This is the package and the set of bundled items.
Colorful packing box is slightly visible on the far right.
Drone body and propeller are just to the left of the box.
To the left is a spare screw set, cable tie, and battery strap.
Further to the left are optional items ordered additionally, including two batteries (4S-300mAh), a mount for the SMO 4K camera, and a spare propeller.
Drone has a battery strap and propeller guard attached, but propeller has been removed.
The aircraft I got this time is a model equipped with analog VTX and
ExpressLRS (ELRS) receiver
, which is a hot topic now, and weighs 95g including battery.
If you remove propeller guard, it will be about 10g lighter, and takeoff weight according to Japanese Aviation Law will be about 85g.
The battery I got this time is 300mAh version (HV 75C) and weighs 37.7g, but if you choose 450mAh version, it weighs 55.2g, so takeoff weight will exceed 100g.
Flight time with 4S-300mAh battery was about 4.5 minutes, and with SMO 4K camera installed it was about 3.5 minutes. You can fly with 3S battery as it is, but the flight time with 3S-300mAh and SMO 4K camera is about 2.5 minutes.
How to use ExpressLRS (ELRS) / Long-distance, high-speed communication protocol
To mount
BETAFPV SMO 4K Camera
holder, remove the top frame and screw it with three nuts.
All screws are 1.5mm Allen keys (hex nuts).
In addition to SMO 4K camera holder, you can buy three types of camera mounts for Insta360 GO, Insta360 GO 2, and Naked GoPro 6/7.

The drone comes standard with a power cable for SMO 4K camera.
You can use SMO 4K camera without adding any wiring yourself.
If you leave this type of optional cable free, it will get caught in the propeller and break. When not using the SMO 4K camera, protect it by rolling it into small pieces and taped it to the body.

SMO 4K camera pwer cable is rather long, so you can pinch it in the mount to prevent it from getting caught in propeller.
Antenna for VTX is RHCP mushroom antenna, and power connector is XT30.

Battery underneath the small body and camera popping out above, give it a chunky, clunky silhouette.
However, the flight performance is high, and it flies smoothly without adjusting PID value or Rate value.

Flight performance
As you can see in the video below, the flight performance is high, and you can fly as lightly as general 75mm Tiny Whoop. Since it is good at making sharp turns, you can enjoy flying not only outdoors but also at home as you wish. When SMO 4K camera is mounted, the lightness is slightly lost, but the feeling of maneuvering is almost the same. Even though it is so small, it is surprising that it can fly lightly with a camera weighing 30g. However, motor sound is very high and noisy. Also, it has a lot of power, so it may be difficult for beginners to handle.
ELRS receiver
Installed ELRS receiver is Flywoo's EL24P. Pre-installed firmware is ELRS version 1, but you can update to version 2 by updating via WiFi. Select "DIY_2400_RX_ESP8285_SX1280" as the device name when building firmware.
How to use ExpressLRS (ELRS) / Long-distance, high-speed communication protocol
Betaflight
FC firmware is Betaflight 4.2.8. No special update is required. However, by default, Arm is not assigned to AUX1 (CH5). When using ELRS, you need to reassign it to AUX1 (CH5). Also, Air mode is always enabled by default, but with this setting, drone will jump on the ground immediately after Arm. Air mode needs to be turned off or changed so that it can be turned on and off during flight with a switch. If you want to use this drone as a Cinelifter, I think Air mode should be OFF.
